What is the definition of failure analysis and how do I use it in a marine engine survey?
Failure analysis is the process of collecting and analyzing data to determine the cause of a failure, often with the goal of determining corrective actions or liability.
In a Marine Engine Survey, I am conducting a comprehensive mechanical inspection of the marine diesel engine and all of the components including: the transmission and the generators aboard the vessel. Below are some examples of failure analysis conducted in a marine engine survey.
